Overview
As Infrastructure Tech Lead, VP, you will provide and further develop the global IT platform for DWS Alternative Real Estate. You will support the complete software development lifecycle for SaaS, vendor-managed, and in-house developed and supported applications in a globally organized team.
What you'll do
- Manage and own the technical and infrastructural issues of internally hosted vendor platforms.
- Work with the Domain Architect to support new mid-term Strategic Programs, including the replacement of key existing platforms.
- Provide technical input and advice for RFI/RFP processes, data integrations and migrations, new implementations, and decommissioning.
- Provide technical design and architectural guidance to technology resources within the Alternatives Platform, including information security, network, and infrastructure issues.
- Create and update infrastructure documentation and diagrams.
- Help create business cases describing the cost impact and value drivers of proposed solutions.
- Assist in preparing feasibility studies, estimates, and infrastructure capacity forecasts.
- Work in a globally organized team.
What you'll need
- In-depth knowledge and project experience in IT infrastructure management.
- Proven experience leading IT infrastructure projects within large-scale or global organizations.
- Strong background in infrastructure management, including servers, storage, networks, virtualization, and cloud technologies.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure migration, transformation, and decommissioning of legacy systems.
- Deep understanding of hybrid IT environments, including on-premise and cloud/SaaS.
- Familiarity with IT governance, compliance, and security standards such as ISO 27001 and GDPR.
- Experience in project and change management during IT transformation programs.
- Strong stakeholder and vendor management capabilities across global teams.
- Knowledge of service management frameworks such as ITIL.
- Experience in budget planning, cost control, and financial tracking for IT projects.
- Ability to align technical initiatives with business strategy and organizational goals.
- Expertise in Windows and Linux server administration, virtualization including VMware and Hyper-V, and container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in cloud platforms, with Google Cloud Platform preferred and AWS/Azure acceptable, including architecture design, migration, and operations.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, including routing, firewalls, VPN, load balancing, and DNS.
- Experience with security frameworks and tools, including Identity & Access Management, endpoint protection, and Zero Trust principles.
- Working knowledge of database technologies including MS SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
- Experience with storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Prometheus, and Azure Monitor.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools including Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, and Python.
- Knowledge of SaaS integration and identity management solutions including Google Cloud Identity, Okta, and SSO.
- Basic understanding of DevOps pipelines and CI/CD practices for cross-functional collaboration.
- Strategic and analytical thinking, with the ability to design and execute modernization roadmaps.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical topics for non-technical stakeholders.
- Leadership and team management skills, with experience guiding technical and vendor teams.
- Proactive, self-driven, and results-oriented approach with strong ownership of deliverables.
- Hands-on mindset and willingness to engage directly with technical challenges when necessary.
- Problem-solving ability and resilience in managing incidents, transitions, or migrations.
