Overview

Trading Assistant role supporting traders on the Delta One trading desk within the Institutional Equity Division, covering trade execution, risk monitoring and operational efficiency.

What you'll do

• Assist traders with booking and monitoring trades across multiple markets and products.
• Communicate with the sales team to book daily swap, forward and option trades.
• Ensure timely and accurate trade capture in internal systems.
• Monitor positions, P&L and risk metrics throughout the trading day.
• Communicate with the control function to clear P&L breaks between systems.
• Reconcile discrepancies between internal systems and external counterparties.
• Liaise with middle office, operations and compliance teams to resolve trade breaks and settlement issues.
• Liaise with the cash payment team to ensure forward settlement is good on value date.
• Maintain strong communication with brokers and counterparties.
• Prepare daily reports on positions, risk exposure and market activity.
• Support traders with ad-hoc analysis, market research and historical P&L and attribution analysis.
• Prepare analytical tools using Python for daily analysis of DSP positions.
• Perform process automation and resolve complex issues using coding skills.
• Identify and implement workflow enhancements to improve efficiency and reduce operational risk.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, computer science or a related field.
• 2-4 years of work experience in banking or financial services in equity swaps, TRS and derivatives.
• Strong understanding of equity markets and derivatives.
• High level of attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.

Nice to have

• Delta One experience.
• Advanced knowledge of VBA and Python.
