Overview
Support institutional investment operations by executing operational activities, resolving issues, strengthening controls, improving efficiency, and supporting high-quality client services. Collaborate with business partners, stakeholders, and global teams across the investment operations environment.
What you'll do
- Participate in lifecycle support tasks for institutional trade initiatives and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Assist leadership in bringing individuals or teams together to resolve complex issues.
- Assist in client account onboarding, input and monitoring of cash payments, customer service, project support, funding operations, custodial operations, securities settlement services, structured loan operations, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Resolve confirmation and ISDA-related issues.
- Provide subject matter expertise on projects and internal and industry-related initiatives.
- Review and analyze functional operational tasks requiring research, evaluation, and independent judgment.
- Present recommendations for resolving complex situations and develop expertise on functions, projects, and internal and industry-related initiatives.
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
- Manage daily processing of securities borrowing and lending activities, including borrows, returns, recalls, callbacks, and contract maintenance.
- Monitor settlement activity and proactively resolve exceptions to minimize fail exposure.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and operational procedures.
- Investigate trade breaks and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Review stock loan metrics, inventory utilization, and operational KPIs to identify trends and risks.
- Handle complex client, counterparty, and business partner queries and escalations independently.
- Support business continuity through risk management and escalation awareness.
- Drive automation, process optimization, and control enhancement initiatives.
- Maintain process documentation, procedures, and training materials.
- Act as a subject matter expert, mentor junior team members, and support knowledge transfer activities.
- Partner with global stakeholders across Front Office, Risk, Compliance, and Operations to ensure seamless lifecycle management.
- Contribute to capacity planning, MIS reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What you'll need
- 2+ years of Institutional Investment Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education.
Nice to have
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end Securities Borrow & Lending lifecycle, including borrows, returns, recalls, callbacks, settlements, and fail management.
- Knowledge of domestic and international settlement processes and market regulations.
- Experience with trade matching and settlement platforms, such as DTCC, Euroclear, and Clearstream.
- Sound understanding of collateral management, margining concepts, stock loan metrics, and inventory management.
- Proven ability to investigate and resolve trade breaks, unmatched trades, and settlement exceptions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including Trading, Middle Office, Risk, Asset Servicing, and Compliance.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Exposure to process improvement, automation initiatives, and operational risk management.
