Overview
IT Analyst Technical Infrastructure (Sr. VMware/UCS Engineer) supporting IT Infrastructure Support within the IT Infrastructure Support - CAT IT Division at Caterpillar.
What you'll do
- Administer and maintain production OpenVMS cluster environments.
- Monitor OpenVMS system health, availability, performance, and operational alerts.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, OS, and application-related issues.
- Apply patches, upgrades, and software maintenance to physical and emulated OpenVMS environments.
- Manage OpenVMS user accounts, privileges, and security settings.
- Execute and validate backup and disaster recovery procedures.
- Provide global operational support for mission-critical warehouse automation and parts distribution systems.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience administering OpenVMS operating systems.
- Experience supporting OpenVMS Cluster environments.
- Knowledge of OpenVMS system management, storage, user administration, and security.
- Experience applying operating system patches, upgrades, and software maintenance.
- Experience managing backups, disaster recovery processes, and system monitoring.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills while supporting mission-critical production environments.
Details
- Location: Bangalore, Karnataka.
- Preference to be based in Bangalore (Caterpillar PSN).
- Schedule: 5-day week; shift timing 01:00–10:00 PM IST.
