Overview
Senior/Lead Network Systems software engineer focused on building software that manages hardware on switches/routers and works across the product lifecycle.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with customers, product management, and hardware engineers to design and build network systems features.
- Write software to control hardware components including sensors, fan/power controllers, storage, FPGAs, NICs, and PCIe switches.
- Design software abstractions to integrate with hardware drivers that manage device hardware.
- Add features, debug issues, and fine-tune code for scalability and performance.
- Build automated tests and test infrastructure for the developed features.
- Work with hardware and manufacturing teams to bring new hardware to market.
- Triage and fix issues in customer networks with support and system test engineers.
What you'll need
- BS or MS in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering plus 4 years of experience.
- Expert knowledge of C or C++ and Python.
- Knowledge of UNIX or Linux.
- Hands-on experience designing and developing hardware device drivers and/or system management utilities.
- Understanding of IP networking and/or distributed systems is required? (marked as a plus, not required).
- Strong problem-solving and software troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to design solutions and implement features independently and work in small teams.
