Lead Software Engineer

Overview

Lead Software Engineer focused on research, design, and development of nonlinear finite element analysis algorithms and solution capabilities for MSC Nastran and Marc.

What you'll do

• Research, design, and develop nonlinear finite element analysis algorithms for multidisciplinary simulations.
• Develop, maintain, enhance, and test MSC Nastran/MARC and related software products.
• Implement, validate, and optimize linear and nonlinear solution capabilities within MSC Nastran/MARC.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation for product enhancements and new software features.
• Support QA activities including benchmarking, validation, and release testing.
• Create regression testing assets such as test cases, benchmark models, and automated tools.
• Identify and report software defects, enhancement requests, and performance issues.

What you'll need

• Strong programming skills in Fortran and C/C++.
• Working knowledge of Linux shell scripting and Python.
• Solid understanding of nonlinear mechanics and numerical methods.
• Knowledge of contact mechanics and contact algorithms.
• Understanding of large deformation and large rotation formulations.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to develop and maintain engineering software code including QA, benchmarking, and validation.
