Overview
Develop and enhance scalable backend services, data pipelines, and microservices using Python and Java for enterprise platforms. Work across the full Software Development Life Cycle under Agile methodologies, including analysis, architecture discussions, coding, testing, reviews, and production support.
What you'll do
- Develop, maintain, and enhance robust, scalable backend applications using Java and Python.
- Build clean, secure RESTful APIs, microservices, and asynchronous event-driven integrations using Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, JMS, or similar technologies.
- Optimize application performance, throughput, memory management, and database query execution.
- Write clean, modular, and maintainable code adhering to enterprise coding standards and SOLID principles.
- Develop automated unit, integration, and component tests.
- Maintain high code coverage and resolve static code analysis findings and security vulnerabilities.
- Integrate applications with CI/CD pipelines.
- Containerize services using Docker and support deployments onto Kubernetes or Red Hat OpenShift.
- Participate in environment setup, automated deployment validation, and release management.
- Participate in Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Backlog Refinement, and Retrospectives.
- Collaborate with business analysts, technical leads, UI/Frontend engineers, database administrators, and QA teams.
- Conduct peer code reviews and contribute to architecture diagrams and API specifications in OpenAPI/Swagger.
- Assist in triage, root cause analysis, and remediation of Level 3 production issues.
- Monitor application health and diagnostics using Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, OpenTelemetry, or similar observability tools.
What you'll need
- Approximately 2-4 years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrable proficiency in both Python and Java.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python 3.x, data structures, asynchronous programming, scripting, and web frameworks including FastAPI, Flask, or Django, or data manipulation libraries including Pandas and NumPy.
- Solid foundational knowledge of Java 11/17+, OOP design patterns, multithreading, concurrency, collections, and the Spring/Spring Boot ecosystem, including Spring MVC, Spring Data, and Spring Security.
- Practical experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs with OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.
- Familiarity with message brokers and streaming platforms including Kafka, ActiveMQ, or IBM MQ.
- Experience with relational databases including PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL, including schema design, indexing, and complex SQL queries.
- Exposure to ORM frameworks including Hibernate/JPA and SQLAlchemy, and/or NoSQL datastores including MongoDB, Redis, and Elasticsearch.
- Hands-on experience with version control tools including Git, GitHub, or Bitbucket.
- Familiarity with Maven or Gradle for Java and pip, poetry, or uv for Python.
- Basic understanding of Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift, and cloud fundamentals including AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Knowledge of automated testing frameworks including JUnit and PyTest and CI/CD tools.
- Strong critical thinking skills with an ability to debug complex issues across hybrid Java/Python architectures.
- Clear verbal and written technical communication skills and comfort articulating design trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-driven, collaborative mindset with an emphasis on accountability, continuous learning, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience.

- Oracle Certified Professional: Java Programmer certification.
- Cloud certifications, including AWS Solutions Architect/Developer Associate or Google Cloud Certified.
- Kubernetes certifications including CKAD.
