Overview
The Applications Development Intermediate Programmer Analyst contributes to application systems analysis, programming activities, and the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems. The role develops and supports full-stack applications using Angular on the front end and Java/Spring Boot microservices on the backend.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, test, and deploy resilient, scalable full-stack applications.
- Build modern, responsive, and accessible web interfaces using Angular, TypeScript, HTML5/SCSS, and state management libraries.
- Architect and implement RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures, and microservices following cloud-native principles, secure coding practices, and clean architecture standards.
- Design data models, write optimized queries, and interact with relational databases and NoSQL stores.
- Integrate code into automated CI/CD pipelines.
- Containerize applications using Docker and support deployment onto Kubernetes/OpenShift platforms.
- Identify and define necessary system enhancements using script tools and by analyzing and interpreting code.
- Consult with users, clients, and technology groups on issues; recommend programming solutions; and install and support customer exposure systems.
- Analyze applications to identify vulnerabilities and security issues, and conduct testing and debugging.
- Serve as an advisor or coach to new or lower-level analysts.
- Identify problems, analyze information, and make evaluative judgments to recommend and implement solutions.
- Resolve issues by identifying and selecting solutions through acquired technical experience and guided by precedents.
- Assess risk in business decisions, safeguard the firm, clients, and assets, comply with applicable laws, rules, regulations, and policy, and escalate, manage, and report control issues transparently.
What you'll need
- 4+ years of relevant experience in the Financial Service industry.
- Intermediate level experience in an Applications Development role.
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts, and basic knowledge of other technical areas.
- Angular (v14+), TypeScript, HTML5/SCSS, and state management libraries (NgRx/RxJS).
- Java and Spring Boot microservices.
- RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures, cloud-native principles, secure coding practices, and clean architecture standards.
- Relational databases such as Oracle and PostgreSQL, and NoSQL stores such as MongoDB and Cassandra.
- Docker and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes/OpenShift.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.
