Overview
Contribute to the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs as an Applications Development Intermediate Programmer Analyst. Design, develop, test, deploy, analyze, and support resilient, scalable full-stack applications in coordination with the Technology team.
What you'll do
- Identify and define necessary system enhancements using script tools and by analyzing and interpreting code.
- Consult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues.
- Recommend programming solutions, install systems, and support customer exposure systems.
- Apply programming languages to design specifications.
- Analyze applications to identify vulnerabilities and security issues.
- Conduct testing and debugging.
- Serve as an advisor or coach to new or lower-level analysts.
- Identify problems, analyze information, and make evaluative judgments to recommend and implement solutions.
- Resolve issues by identifying and selecting solutions through acquired technical experience and guided by precedents.
- Design, develop, test, and deploy resilient, scalable full-stack applications with Angular on the front end and Java / Spring Boot microservices on the backend.
- Build modern, responsive, and accessible web interfaces using Angular, TypeScript, HTML5/SCSS, and state management libraries.
- Architect and implement RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures, and microservices following cloud-native principles, secure coding practices, and clean architecture standards.
- Design data models, write optimized queries, and interact with relational databases and NoSQL stores.
- Integrate code into automated CI/CD pipelines.
- Containerize applications using Docker.
- Support deployment onto container orchestration platforms.
- Assess risk when business decisions are made, considering the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets.
- Drive compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations; adhere to policy; apply sound ethical judgment; and escalate, manage, and report control issues with transparency.
What you'll need
- 4+ years of relevant experience in the Financial Service industry.
- Intermediate-level experience in an Applications Development role.
- Knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts.
- Basic knowledge of other technical areas.
- Fundamental knowledge of programming languages.
- Experience with Angular on the front end and Java / Spring Boot microservices on the backend.
- Experience with Angular v14+, TypeScript, HTML5/SCSS, and state management libraries such as NgRx/RxJS.
- Experience architecting and implementing RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures, and microservices.
- Knowledge of cloud-native principles, secure coding practices, and clean architecture standards.
- Experience designing data models and writing optimized queries.
- Experience with relational databases such as Oracle and PostgreSQL.
- Experience with NoSQL stores such as MongoDB and Cassandra.
- Experience integrating code into automated CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience containerizing applications using Docker.
- Experience supporting deployment onto Kubernetes / OpenShift.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
