Java Lead Engineer - Vice President - Software Engineering

Overview

Lead the design and development of scalable enterprise reporting and analytics solutions for a greenfield finance technology project. The role focuses on Java full-stack engineering, architecture, stakeholder collaboration, and technical team leadership.

What you'll do

• Lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise reporting and analytics solutions.
• Architect and implement systems using Java, Angular, and modern technologies.
• Evaluate build-versus-buy options and deliver proof-of-concepts.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and product owners to define requirements.
• Lead engineers and mentor the technical team.
• Drive GenAI, Copilot, automated testing, and CI/CD adoption.
• Manage stakeholder communication, project status, risks, and challenges.

What you'll need

• 10–18 years of software engineering experience.
• Strong Java experience, including Spring Boot and REST APIs.
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and SDLC practices.
• Experience building and scaling enterprise-level applications.
• Experience with GenAI, Copilot, or AI-based development tools.
• Experience leading teams and managing stakeholder relationships.
• Prior experience in finance, investment banking, or related domains.

Nice to have

• Experience with Angular or React as a secondary front-end framework.
• Familiarity with Power BI, Apache Airflow, OLAP tools, and workflow automation.
• Experience with tool evaluation, POC delivery, and greenfield projects.
