Junior Engineer Quality

Overview

The Junior Engineer-Quality Inspector carries out in-process and final inspections of aerospace hardware and supports continually improving quality systems, production quality, and product acceptance. The role reports to the Quality Manager and works with Tooling Engineering, Production, quality system teams, cross-functional teams, quality cells, and HPT teams.

What you'll do

• Establish efficient and continually improving in-process quality systems as per AS 9100, ISO 9001, and internal GE QMS norms.
• Own and drive key Quality deliverables in projects, including analysis and certifying aviation hardware per internal quality inspection requirements.
• Carry out inspections in quality per internal QMS procedural requirements.
• Work closely with Tooling Engineering, Production, and Quality system teams to develop and implement AS 9100 procedures and systems.
• Support driving end-to-end production quality.
• Work and get qualified with cross-functional teams, quality cells, and HPT teams for daily analysis of yield improvement, EHS, and process improvisation projects.
• Contribute to continual improvement through non-conformances and drive corrective actions identified through Root Cause Analysis.
• Perform final inspection of aerospace hardware.

What you'll need

• First Class Diploma in Mechanical or Production.
• 1 + Years of Experience in Production quality.
• Knowledge of AS 9100 or AMS, S1000 / S1002 standards.
• Knowledge of Basic Lean and Six Sigma Methodology.
• Working knowledge of AS 9100 and internal requirements.
• Understanding of site quality QMS procedures and policies.
• Understanding of quality tools related to process yield improvement, including RCA, KAIZENS, 7 QC tools, and Defect Analysis.
• Knowledge of dimensional inspection methodologies.
• Awareness of AS9100, NC, RCCA, and QMS requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience in the aviation industry in the fields of aviation quality inspection and product acceptance.
• Working knowledge of AS 9100 and internal requirements.
• Strong working knowledge of GD&T, drawings, and specifications interpretation.
