Lead AI Security Engineer, AI Identities

Overview

Lead AI Security Engineer responsible for securing identities associated with AI models, agents, services, pipelines, and other non-human actors. The role focuses on discovery, lifecycle management, least-privilege access, monitoring, risk assessment, and governance of AI identities.

What you'll do

• Discover and inventory AI models, agents, service accounts, API principals, and dynamically created identities.
• Define lifecycle controls for creating, modifying, rotating, suspending, and decommissioning AI identities.
• Design and enforce least-privilege and policy-based access controls for AI systems.
• Monitor AI identity behavior and investigate excessive permissions, credential misuse, lateral movement, and agent abuse.
• Conduct architecture reviews, threat modeling, security assessments, and control validation.
• Develop standards, procedures, reports, metrics, and runbooks for AI identity security.
• Advise and educate engineering and platform teams on AI identity risks and controls.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong experience in identity and access management, security engineering, or security operations.
• Expertise in Least Agency frameworks, Zero Trust Architecture, Delegated Authority Management, Cryptographic Identities, and Short Lived Credentialing.
• Experience securing non-human identities, service accounts, APIs, or machine-to-machine access.
• Understanding of AI/ML architectures, data pipelines, model execution, and agent-based systems.
• Ability to design, assess, and operationalize identity controls at scale.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Nice to have

• CISSP, GIAC, CIAM/IAM-related, or cloud security certifications.
