Lead Android Engineer (EMEA Remote)

Overview

Lead Android Engineer responsible for designing, developing, and evolving scalable Android applications that integrate with distributed backend systems. The role emphasizes mobile architecture, performance, security, and technical ownership.

What you'll do

• Design and develop Android applications using Kotlin.
• Architect scalable mobile solutions focused on performance.
• Build responsive UIs aligned with modern Android design principles.
• Integrate mobile applications with backend and distributed systems.
• Implement data synchronization, offline support, and network resilience.
• Optimize memory usage, battery efficiency, and application performance.
• Mentor team members and drive Android architecture, CI/CD, and release practices.

What you'll need

• 5–6+ years of experience as a Senior or Lead Android Engineer.
• Strong expertise in Kotlin and the Android SDK.
• Experience with MVVM and Clean Architecture.
• Strong understanding of Android performance and lifecycle management.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, Coroutines, and Flow.
• Experience with Room, SQLite, caching, testing, and debugging tools.
• Strong communication skills and experience working in Agile teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with Jetpack Compose.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and mobile release processes.
• Experience with mobile security, including secure storage, encryption, and authentication.
• Knowledge of distributed systems or cloud platforms.
• Experience with observability or mobile analytics tools.
