Lead Authentication Engineer – Vice President, Cybersecurity Engineering

Overview

Lead Authentication Engineer for the Identity Access Management (IAM) team within the Cyber Data Risk & Resilience division, responsible for designing and operationalizing enterprise authentication solutions.

What you'll do

• Design, build, integrate, and ship secure, scalable authentication solutions for human and non-human identities.
• Implement and harden enterprise authentication and federation technologies including OIDC/OAuth2, SAML, SSO, SSO standards, FIDO2/WebAuthn, and PKI.
• Deliver end-to-end integrations across IAM platforms in cloud and hybrid environments.
• Operate and evolve large-scale IAM estates with HA/DR, performance tuning, IaC, config management, CI/CD, and observability.
• Collaborate with product/platform leads, participate in on-call, and lead RCAs.
• Translate architecture into epics, stories, runbooks, pipelines, and audit-ready documentation via ADRs and standards.

What you'll need

• 12+ years of career experience with hands-on principal engineering (not architect-only), including coding and production shipping.
• Deep authentication expertise across OIDC/OAuth2, SAML, SSO, FIDO2/WebAuthn, PKI, API auth, and Unix/Linux authentication.
• Experience with IAM platforms including HashiCorp Vault, HSMs, CyberArk, SailPoint, Entra ID, Ping Identity, IDM/LDAP, and RCBI.
• Proven experience operating IAM/auth services in large multi-region environments with HA/DR, Terraform, Ansible/Puppet/Chef, CI/CD, and observability.
• Strong Shell plus Python/Go experience.
• Security and compliance acumen including threat modeling, least privilege, PAM, secrets management, policy-as-code, and auditability.
• Relevant work experience of 6+ years to perform the role.
