Lead Automation Engineer - Manager

Overview

Lead Automation Engineer - Manager for QA within State Street’s Global Technology Services (Fund Connect), focused on test automation strategy, framework development, and end-to-end quality assurance.

What you'll do

• Own test automation strategy and end-to-end QA for complex enterprise applications.
• Design, develop, and scale automated test frameworks and regression suites.
• Build and integrate CI/CD pipelines to run automated functional, integration, regression, and performance tests.
• Perform front-end automation testing using Selenium/Playwright (or equivalents).
• Develop, execute, and maintain automated test suites for functional, integration, regression, and performance testing.
• Interpret automation results, log defects, and collaborate with developers to resolve issues.
• Write SQL queries for data validation and root-cause analysis.

What you'll need

• 10-14 years of software QA experience with strong emphasis on test automation.
• Proven hands-on individual contributor background (not people-management).
• Strong UI and API test automation skills, including REST API testing tools/frameworks.
• Test framework expertise such as TestNG and Cucumber (BDD-style frameworks).
• Proficiency in Java (preferred) or also C# / Python.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery models.
• Ability to write SQL queries for validation and defect analysis.
