Overview
Lead Unix/CAD Administrator to support and manage Unix/Linux engineering environments and CAD applications.
What you'll do
- Administer and support Unix/Linux servers hosting engineering and CAD applications.
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain CAD software such as AutoCAD, CATIA, Siemens NX, Creo, and SolidWorks.
- Manage CAD application licensing using FlexNet/FlexLM and troubleshoot licensing issues.
- Monitor system performance and help ensure high availability, patching, backups, and disaster recovery.
- Provide L2/L3 support and troubleshoot application, OS, storage, and network issues.
- Automate administrative tasks with Shell/Bash and other scripting languages.
What you'll need
- 8-12 years of IT experience.
- Hands-on Unix/Linux administration experience (RHEL, Oracle Linux, SUSE, AIX, Solaris, or Ubuntu).
- Experience supporting CAD/PLM applications including AutoCAD, CATIA, Siemens NX, PTC Creo, or SolidWorks.
- Experience with CAD license management tools such as FlexNet/FlexLM.
- Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux commands, file systems, process management, and performance tuning.
- Experience with Shell/Bash scripting and automation.
- Knowledge of NFS, Samba, SSH, DNS, LDAP, and Active Directory integration.
Nice to have
- Certifications in Linux (RHCSA, RHCE, LPIC, or equivalent) are preferred.
- Experience supporting engineering or manufacturing environments and exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
