Lead Data Scientist

Overview

Lead Data Scientist role in LSEG’s Emerging Tech Standard Delivery Team, partnering with Operations and Technology to design and deliver scalable data-driven AI/ML solutions.

What you'll do

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of senior data scientists with technical direction and feedback.
• Drive end-to-end delivery of data science initiatives and remove roadblocks for high-quality execution.
• Own and refine a product vision for an advanced data management and analytics framework.
• Define and optimize user experiences for financial analytics data pipelines.
• Develop, deploy, and optimize production-grade AI models including deep learning, NLP, LLMs, and RAG.
• Establish coding standards, quality controls, and reproducibility practices for ML development.
• Lead scalable deployments of AI/ML solutions on AWS, Azure, or equivalent cloud environments.

What you'll need

• 8–12 years of experience in data science or related analytics and statistical modelling roles.
• Own end-to-end AI/ML solutions from problem definition and experimentation to production deployment.
• Define technical strategy including model selection, evaluation metrics, and trade-offs.
• Demonstrate advanced AI solutions experience including NLP, LLMs, GenAI, and RAG aligned to business outcomes.
• Proficiency in Python, plus ML/DL frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn.
• Leverage foundations in statistics, data engineering, and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL.
