Lead Engineer - Controls

Overview

Lead Engineer - Controls responsible for supervising and executing control systems projects across GM manufacturing engineering, including offline designs and online execution.

What you'll do

• Supervise and control projects, including scope, issues, risks, and schedule.
• Handle issues to closure and communicate project status via meetings and reports.
• Perform in-house engineering for hardware/software, emulation, integration, and commissioning at site.
• Conduct offline testing and supplier buyoff; guide and approve contractor designs for turnkey projects.
• Implement GM global tools and deploy GM global standards across projects.
• Perform root cause analysis and prepare lessons learnt from completed projects.
• Develop and maintain components in Emulate 3D and develop electrical/mechanical models.

What you'll need

• Masters/bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering/electronics/instrumentation.
• 10+ years’ experience in automotive or software companies with automation background.
• In-depth knowledge of control systems for automotive assembly plants.
• Knowledge of PLC, HMI, drives, networks, with strong programming skills (preferably Rockwell PLC).
• Thorough knowledge of Rockwell PLC software and Siemens HMI software and interfaces to other controls systems.
• Knowledge of Emulation software like Emulate 3D.
• Project management and site execution skills.

Details

• Work arrangement is hybrid, with office reporting four times per week or as dictated by the business.
• Based at GM Technical Centre India - Bengaluru; travel opportunities across regions for project execution.
