Overview
Associate Lead Controls Engineer to develop high-level controls and automation solutions for OEM industrial machinery/SPMs, with a focus on motion programming and PLC/HMI systems.
What you'll do
- Develop and support PLC, HMI, motion controller, and data collection system programming for machine product lines.
- Maintain and build advanced electrical control software/systems for form/fill/seal packaging machinery and feed systems.
- Create and implement automation/control systems and associated project documentation and drawings.
- Use off-the-shelf control hardware/software for machine functionality, safety, and motion.
- Maintain documentation for diagnostics, information systems, data collection, and communications.
- Troubleshoot/diagnose control systems in plant or remotely in partnership with internal/external customers.
What you'll need
- Minimum 15 years of experience in controls or automation engineering with industrial manufacturing equipment.
- Solid understanding of machine safety applications, electrical power distribution, and industrial control panel design/fabrication (UL508A).
- Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, PLC5, SLC500), PanelView/PanelView Plus HMIs, and industrial communication networks.
- Experience with engineering documentation (schematics, machine specifications, SOPs, and training documentation) including ACAD.
- Equipment testing/commissioning experience.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to approximately 20% and obtain a passport; must have a valid driver’s license.

- Location: Chennai, India.
- Primary solution is Rockwell (AB), but may include B&R, Siemens, or other suppliers.
- Travel: occasional domestic and/or global travel (up to 20%).
