Lead Engineer

Overview

Lead Engineer in Service Engineering at Collins Aerospace, Advanced Structures Business Unit, supporting landing gear and mechanical components in a hybrid role based in Bengaluru.

What you'll do

• Be accountable for deliverables meeting the expected quality and on-time delivery.
• Maintain and develop a positive relationship with customers and other functional groups.
• Collaborate with the customer and different departments to ensure completion of assigned tasks.
• Ensure compliance with global trade requirements.
• Adhere to quality management processes and procedures.
• Provide repair dispositions for landing gear parts or mechanical components.
• Propose engineering solutions to complex overhaul issues to curtail future occurrences.
• Interact with MROs, business units, and cross-functional teams such as design, stress, and materials.
• Work under an aggressive workload requirement.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering with 3-6 years of experience.
• Sound knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals, especially design, materials, manufacturing processes and special processes.
• Hands-on experience in providing repair dispositions for landing gear parts or mechanical components.
• Experience in disposition to complex overhaul issues and proposing engineering solutions.
• Excellent drawing reading skills.
• Experience in tolerance stack-up analysis and GD&T.
• Sound knowledge in reading and understanding stress analysis reports.
• Prior demonstration of cross-functional team collaboration.
• Hands-on experience in CATIA V5 3D modeling software.
• Hands-on experience in using PDM/PLM software.
• Strong communication skills.

• Prior experience on repair dispositions.
• Knowledge of landing gear components and functionality.
• Prior experience on MRB work.
• Prior experience on automation and digital technology.
• A master's degree in a similar domain.

• Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka, India (Northgate, Yelahanka Hobli).
• Work mode: Hybrid, with onsite and offsite ratio determined with the leader.
• Background check required for all India positions.
