Lead Full Stack Data Engineer

Overview

Lead Full Stack Data Engineer who owns end-to-end BI and Analytics data products, from ingestion and transformation to semantic modelling, reporting, documentation, and user adoption.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and implement full-stack data solutions from ingestion through user-facing reports and apps.
• Translate ambiguous business questions into well-defined data products including data models, semantic layers, dashboards, and documentation.
• Develop and maintain ingestion and transformation pipelines using Microsoft Fabric components.
• Implement layered data architectures (e.g., bronze/silver/gold) and apply ETL/ELT standards, performance optimization, and scalable design.
• Design dimensional and star schemas and build Power BI semantic models using DAX measures and calculated columns.
• Ensure data governance, security compliance, and clear documentation, including ownership, refresh cadence, and lineage.
• Line manage data engineers through objectives, one-to-ones, performance reviews, and development.

What you'll need

• Strong proficiency in SQL and/or Python for data transformation, modelling, and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric: Data Factory pipelines and dataflows Gen2, plus Lakehouse and/or Data Warehouse.
• Strong Power BI skills, including DAX, semantic modelling, and performance optimization.
• Experience implementing BI security models such as RLS.
• Familiarity with Git-based source control and CI/CD practices for BI and analytics assets.
• Proven experience (typically 5+ years) delivering end-to-end BI, analytics, or data engineering solutions.

• Comfortable working in regulated or compliance-driven environments.
