Overview
Lead the end-to-end development of Levi's consumer mobile app, owning technical direction, delivery and release readiness in a fast-paced agile environment.
What you'll do
- Lead technical planning, design decisions, and delivery for the mobile app from implementation approach through release readiness.
- Own the full lifecycle of what you build, including writing, testing, deploying, monitoring, and maintaining code in production, and fulfilling on-call duties for the app.
- Contribute to the technical vision for Levi's web and app platforms, defining patterns, architecture, and best practices for the team.
- Design, build, and maintain high-performance, accessible mobile experiences using React Native, integrated with backend/commerce APIs, with attention to state management, offline handling, and caching.
- Own app performance, stability, and platform health such as startup time, responsiveness, crash rates, and app store ratings, and manage release processes (app store submission, versioning, phased rollouts).
- Champion telemetry and observability by instrumenting the app with crash reporting, logging, and monitoring to proactively detect issues.
- Lead code reviews, architecture reviews, and technical standards; own test strategy (unit, integration, end-to-end) as a shared team responsibility.
- Mentor developers, play an active role in hiring and growing the team, and lead by example on team agreements and best practices.
- Partner with product, design, and backend/platform engineering to align on requirements, API contracts, and integration points.
- Drive agile execution with sprint planning, backlog refinement, and estimation.

- Hands-on experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot, ChatGPT) to accelerate coding, debugging, testing, and documentation, including writing effective prompts and critically validating AI-generated output for accuracy, security, and production quality.
- Understanding of responsible AI practices, including data privacy and safe handling of enterprise information.
- Mobile: React Native, JavaScript/TypeScript, native iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin) fundamentals for native module work.
- Integration: RESTful/GraphQL APIs, headless/composable commerce platforms.
