Lead Software Engineer

Overview

Lead Software Engineer role with full-stack responsibility and strong production engineering fundamentals, including leadership of a software engineering team.

What you'll do

• Ship production systems end-to-end across backend, frontend, and infrastructure.
• Own clean code and automated testing, including CI/CD discipline.
• Design and consume RESTful APIs and/or work with event-driven architectures.
• Make and communicate architectural decisions and trade-offs.
• Lead a software engineering team by setting direction, managing performance, and developing engineers.
• Run engineering processes such as agile delivery, planning, retrospectives, and incident management.

What you'll need

• Full-stack production experience across backend, frontend, and infrastructure (depth in at least one).
• Solid SQL and relational database skills, including cloud-hosted databases in production.
• Experience with containerisation such as Docker and/or Kubernetes.
• Proven experience running engineering process (agile delivery, planning, retrospectives, incident management).
• Experience managing people priorities alongside engineering responsibilities.
• Security fundamentals knowledge including auth/authz, secrets management, encryption, and PII handling.
