Lead Software Engineer, Real Time Index Engineering(Java)

Overview

Lead software engineering role building and operating a low-latency, cloud-native platform for calculating, managing, and distributing real-time financial indices. The role is an individual contributor position focused on architecture, hands-on delivery, code quality, security, and operational reliability.

What you'll do

• Build low-latency, event-driven index calculation engines.
• Operate a resilient, horizontally scalable AWS platform.
• Own modelling, quality, and auditability for real-time market and reference data.
• Deliver secure APIs and streaming data distribution.
• Modernise operational workflows with tooling and observability.
• Lead architecture, code reviews, and test strategy.

What you'll need

• 9+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Expertise in system design, distributed systems, and event-driven systems.
• Experience building and operating cloud-native applications on AWS.
• Ability to maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform or equivalent.
• Experience designing multi-level testing strategies.
• Proficiency with AI development tooling and distributed-system debugging.
• Basic understanding of financial services or capital markets.
