Lead Software Engineer - VP

Overview

Lead Software Engineer (VP) designing, developing, and improving software solutions across business, platform, and technology capabilities.

What you'll do

• Develop and deliver high-quality software using industry-aligned languages, frameworks, and tools.
• Ensure code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define requirements and solution strategies.
• Participate in code reviews and promote code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Adhere to secure coding practices and perform effective unit testing.
• Contribute to strategy by driving requirements, making recommendations, and escalating policy/procedure breaches.
• Advise stakeholders and help manage and mitigate risks and strengthen controls.

What you'll need

• Extensive hands-on Java experience (core Java, OOP, collections, generics, exceptions, concurrency, JVM concepts, performance optimization).
• Strong production application/service development experience with Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem.
• Advanced SQL skills, including relational databases, schema design, indexing, query optimization, and transaction/data integrity concepts.
• Experience using Python 3 for software development, scripting, automation, data processing, tooling, or platform engineering use cases.
• Knowledge of computer science fundamentals (programming principles, data structures, algorithms, complexity, structured problem solving).
• Strong understanding of system design (APIs, microservices, distributed systems, scalability, resilience, caching, messaging, event-driven architecture, observability, fault tolerance).
• Experience with source control, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, build tooling, release practices, and engineering governance.

Nice to have

• Experience in investment banking, capital markets, trading, risk, or financial services technology (strongly preferred).
• Cloud platforms, containerization, DevOps tooling, messaging technologies, or high-performance computing (advantageous).
