Lead Software Test Automation Engineer - Selenium with C# and API Testing (Rest)

Overview

Lead a test automation function as an independent, senior individual contributor, designing and maintaining advanced automated test suites and driving test process improvement.

What you'll do

• Independently design, execute, and maintain advanced automated test suites.
• Drive the development of test automation strategies and frameworks.
• Lead test automation initiatives, ensuring the efficiency and reliability of test processes.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of test results to identify performance bottlenecks and defects.
• Advocate for quality within the development process, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
• Implement and enhance automated tests within the CI/CD pipeline.
• Evaluate and recommend new test tools and technologies.
• Provide technical leadership in test architecture design and implementation.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in test automation.
• Produce comprehensive test documentation and reports for stakeholders.

What you'll need

• Strong proficiency in C# and .NET or advanced Java experience.
• Hands-on experience with API testing (REST).
• Playwright or Selenium experience.
• Experience using tools/frameworks such as RestSharp / HttpClient, and NUnit / xUnit.
• Solid understanding of JSON, HTTP protocols, and status codes.
• Experience with Git or similar version control systems.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or Jenkins, etc.).
• SQL and database validation skills.
• Contract testing (e.g., Swagger/OpenAPI).
• Experience in agile/scrum environments.

Nice to have

• Grafana reporting and dashboard experience.
• QA KPI metrics experience.

• Location: Pune, India (Smartworks).
