Software Test Analyst – Backend Testing, API Testing, Cucumber, BDD, Kafka – 7-10 Years

Overview

Senior Software Test Engineer / QA Automation Lead role focused on backend testing, API test automation and quality engineering for web-based applications and services, working in Agile teams.

What you'll do

• Design, develop and maintain robust test automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver and Playwright.
• Create and execute automated test scripts using Java and C#.
• Develop comprehensive test strategies, test plans and test cases aligned with business requirements.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, system and end-to-end testing.
• Collaborate closely with Developers, Product Owners, Business Analysts and DevOps teams.
• Participate in requirement reviews and provide quality-focused feedback during design discussions.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Analyze test results, troubleshoot issues and provide detailed defect reports.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and promote testing best practices across teams.
• Drive continuous improvement in automation coverage, execution efficiency and release quality.
• Ensure compliance with organizational quality standards and processes.

What you'll need

• 7+ years of strong backend testing experience, with a primary focus on backend systems rather than UI testing.
• Experience with software quality assurance, test automation and quality engineering.
• Strong expertise in Selenium, Playwright, Java and C#.
• Experience building scalable automation frameworks.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
• API test automation using Cucumber BDD, Karate and other modern automation frameworks.
• SQL and database validation.
• Kafka messaging systems.
• Log analysis and automation.
• AWS services.
• Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines.
• Asynchronous and distributed services testing.
• Web services and servers testing.
