Lead Systems Operations Engineer

Overview

Lead systems operations and application support for a Wires application in a 12x7 production environment. The role focuses on operational stability, high-severity incident management, production changes, and coordination across technical teams.

What you'll do

• Lead systems consultation and large-scale infrastructure planning.
• Support the Wires application in a 12x7 production environment.
• Monitor application health, performance, and batch processes.
• Handle incidents, problems, and service requests.
• Perform root cause analysis for recurring and major incidents.
• Support migrations, deployments, patching, and release activities.
• Coordinate with infrastructure, database, and development teams.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of Systems Engineering or Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent experience, training, military experience, or education.
• L3 application support experience with strong ITIL processes.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge of database, MQ, and middleware technologies.
• Experience with Splunk, Geneos, and Grafana monitoring tools.
• Hands-on automation experience using shell, Perl, Python, or AI tools.
• Knowledge of financial or payment systems and Wires transaction flows.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and deployment support.

Nice to have

• Experience with Unix, Oracle, Autosys, Cron, WebSphere, Apache, Tomcat, Kafka, Ansible, or AIX.
