Lead Web Developer

Overview

Lead Web Developer responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable web applications using PHP, Laravel, and MySQL, while contributing to application architecture, performance, stability, and cloud-based deployments.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using PHP, Laravel, and MySQL.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Guide and mentor junior developers by providing technical support, code reviews, and best practice recommendations.
• Participate in application design discussions and contribute to architecture and technology decisions.
• Develop and optimize RESTful APIs, backend services, and database structures.
• Ensure high-quality code through code reviews, testing, documentation, and adherence to development standards.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex application issues while ensuring platform stability and performance.
• Optimize application and database performance through efficient coding and query optimization techniques.
• Support cloud-based deployments and collaborate with DevOps teams on CI/CD and release activities.

What you'll need

• 8+ years of experience in web application development using PHP and related technologies.
• Strong experience with the Laravel framework and enterprise application development.
• Experience guiding developers through technical challenges, conducting code reviews, and promoting engineering best practices.
• Hands-on experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent industry experience.
• Expert knowledge of PHP and the Laravel Framework.
• Expert knowledge of SQL, MySQL, and relational database design and optimization.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and jQuery.
• Strong understanding of application architecture, design patterns, and software development best practices.
• Familiarity with AWS (Amazon Web Services) and/or GCP (Google Cloud Platform).
• Strong Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) fundamentals.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Details

• This is a hybrid position.
• Job responsibilities are performed virtually as well as in person at an assigned TU office location.
• Regular in-person attendance is required at the assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
• Location: Pune.
