Provide in-country legal and compliance leadership for Sandvik Rock Processing in India (Sales Area India and production organization), ensuring adherence to the Sandvik Code of Conduct, Group and Rock Processing policies, and applicable Indian and international laws.

What you'll do

  • Implement the Sandvik compliance program for Rock Processing in India, covering anti-bribery/anti-corruption (risk assessments, monitoring, third-party due diligence), trade compliance (sanctions, customs, export control), competition law (training, dawn-raid readiness), and data privacy/digital compliance.
  • Deliver risk-based training to build awareness across the Sales Area and production organization.
  • Lead Speak Up investigations impartially, report findings and follow up on remediation.
  • Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements (NDAs, sales, distributor/agency, sourcing, IT/IP) as the local review and approval point, and provide proactive legal risk advice to Sales and Sourcing.
  • Manage local litigation, claims and disputes, including instructing and cost-managing external counsel and feeding into BA litigation reporting.
  • Support employment law matters with HR.
  • Act as the local link between business, entity management and BA Legal, Compliance and Finance teams on Delegation of Authority, subsidiary governance, ERM and internal controls, flagging gaps or unclear ownership for resolution.
  • Support business with day-to-day legal and compliance inquiries, acting as trusted Legal and Compliance business partner to local management.
  • Define and implement an appropriate governance framework in line with Sandvik Group and Rock Processing models.

What you'll need

  • Indian law degree (LL.B.), or Bachelor's in law, business, finance or related field.
  • Minimum 6–8 years combined legal and compliance experience in a multinational company in engineering, manufacturing, mining or industrial sectors.
  • Proven track record in ABC, trade compliance, third-party due diligence and investigations in India.
  • Solid experience independently drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
  • Litigation experience.
  • Familiarity with Indian legal, regulatory and enforcement trends and subsidiary governance.
  • Ability to turn complex requirements into simple, practical business processes; pragmatic, avoids over-compliance while focusing on what matters.
  • High personal integrity; handles confidential matters with discretion.
  • Strong stakeholder management across cultures; influences without direct authority.
  • Decisive and autonomous under uncertainty; resilient in a fast-paced environment; hands-on and practical attitude.
  • Strong communication skills adjusted to different audiences.
