Linguist – Malagasy – UI Technical / Marketing

Overview

Provide Malagasy translation and localization for UI, technical, marketing, retail, and e-commerce content as an independent contractor.

What you'll do

• Localize software interfaces and support documentation.
• Adapt global marketing campaigns and brand voice for Malagasy-speaking audiences.
• Localize product and e-commerce listings.
• Apply regional naming and formatting standards.
• Maintain terminology, quality, and brand consistency.
• Coordinate with production and quality leads on project delivery.

What you'll need

• Native-level proficiency in Malagasy.
• Graduate qualification in translation, linguistics, or language studies.
• Two years of full-time professional translation experience with a graduate qualification in another field, or five years of full-time professional translation experience.
• Professional translation and localization experience in marketing, UI/software, or e-commerce content.
• Ability to follow terminology and reference materials precisely.

Nice to have

• Experience localizing mobile UI, social media, or web content.

Details

• Remote independent contractor role.
• Work availability varies with project demand, and hours are not guaranteed.
• Most tasks require at least 2 hours per day or 10 hours per week.
