Manager – Data Scientist, Advisory

Overview

Manager-level Data Scientist role in PwC's Advisory line, Data, Analytics & AI specialism, using advanced analytics to extract insights from large datasets and support clients in solving complex business problems.

What you'll do

• Utilise advanced analytical techniques to extract insights from large datasets and drive data-driven decision-making.
• Leverage data manipulation, visualisation and statistical modelling skills to support clients in solving complex business problems.
• Preprocess structured and unstructured data, processing, cleansing and validating its integrity for analysis.
• Build, train and deploy ML models on Azure/AWS/GCP.
• Adapt foundation models/LLMs to address specific business challenges.
• Design, deploy and manage prompt-based models on LLMs for various NLP tasks.
• Build and maintain data pipelines and data processing workflows for prompt engineering on LLMs using cloud services for scalability and efficiency.
• Utilise version control to maintain codebase integrity and support collaboration in an error-free development environment.
• Translate domain problems into data science problems.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What you'll need

• Proficiency in statistical modelling and machine learning techniques such as time series forecasting, reliability models, Markov models, stochastic models, Bayesian modelling, classification models, cluster analysis and neural networks.
• Good exposure to deep learning and associated frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow and Keras).
• Strong working experience with cloud platforms to build, train and deploy ML models on Azure/AWS/GCP.
• Good working knowledge of distributed computing environments and big data platforms (Hadoop, Elasticsearch, etc.) and common database systems and value stores (SQL, Hive, HBase, etc.).
• Hands-on experience in MLOps (Dockerization, REST APIs and CI/CD/CT processes).
• Good understanding of business and ability to translate domain problems to data science problems.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Mandatory skill sets: Python, GenAI, machine learning, data science.
• Years of experience required: 1-9 years.
• Education qualification: BE/B.Tech/MBA/MCA.
• Degrees/field of study required: Master of Business Administration.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in programming languages such as R, Python, and database query languages such as SQL, Hive, Pig.
• Familiarity with Scala, Java or C++.
• Familiarity with LLM orchestration and agentic AI libraries.
• Preferred skill sets: data analysis, SQL, MLOps.
