Manager Engineering- Firmware

Overview

Manager, Engineering (Firmware) is an on-site hands-on engineering leadership role for residential backup-power product delivery. The role leads firmware, electrical, and mechanical development and coordinates execution with U.S. engineering teams.

What you'll do

• Lead the firmware team’s day-to-day development work, including build environments, code reviews, and approving pull requests.
• Manage day-to-day scheduling and coordination for electrical, PCB design, and mechanical work.
• Establish and continuously improve development processes, coding standards, and toolchains for repeatable delivery.
• Onboard and train new team members and keep the team productive when U.S. teams are unavailable.
• Collaborate with product management and quality engineering to deliver and iterate reliable solutions.
• Provide engineering leadership, design oversight, and performance management for the team.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of engineering experience with hands-on embedded firmware and/or electronics/PCB hardware experience (preferred).
• 3+ years of management experience.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Working knowledge of modern firmware development workflows, including Git, code reviews, and CI/build tooling.
• Working knowledge of electronics/PCB hardware development, including schematic capture, PCB layout, board bring-up, and design verification.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience coordinating work across time zones with distributed teams.
