Overview
Lead the design and development of advanced mixed-signal electronic assemblies for next-generation handheld ultrasound systems. Provide hands-on technical leadership across the product lifecycle, from concept and architecture through design, verification, certification, and production release.
What you'll do
- Design and develop complex mixed-signal electronic assemblies incorporating high-speed digital circuits, analog signal conditioning circuits, power management and battery-powered systems, embedded processors, microcontrollers, FPGAs, memory interfaces, and wireless communication interfaces such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
- Perform schematic capture, component selection, design reviews, and technical trade-off analysis.
- Develop high-density multilayer PCB designs in collaboration with PCB layout engineers.
- Optimize circuits for performance, power consumption, thermal behavior, reliability, manufacturability, and cost.
- Perform circuit simulations using tools such as PSpice, LTspice, or equivalent.
- Conduct Signal Integrity (SI) analysis, Power Integrity (PI) analysis, power supply and transient simulations, and timing and margin analysis.
- Analyze and resolve complex electrical performance issues.
- Lead board bring-up activities for prototype and production hardware.
- Develop and execute hardware verification and validation plans.
- Troubleshoot issues using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, network analyzers, and other lab equipment.
- Support system integration, environmental testing, EMC testing, and reliability verification.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable medical device regulations and standards, including the IEC 60601 family of standards, IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-1-2 (EMC), IEC 62304 awareness, ISO 14971-aligned risk management processes, RoHS, REACH, and other regulatory requirements.
- Support regulatory submissions, certification testing, and compliance documentation.
- Participate in design reviews, hazard analysis, FMEA activities, and risk mitigation efforts.
- Create and maintain engineering documentation, including design specifications, schematics, design calculations, verification protocols and reports, test procedures, design history files, and manufacturing documentation.
- Ensure traceability and compliance with quality management processes.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
- Drive design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional global teams to achieve project milestones and product quality objectives.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

What you'll need
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in electronics hardware design and development.
- Proven experience developing mixed-signal electronic systems for commercial products.
- Strong expertise in analog circuit design.
- Strong expertise in digital circuit design.
- Strong expertise in power electronics and battery-powered systems.
- Strong expertise in high-density multilayer PCB design.
- Strong expertise in hardware debugging and failure analysis.
- Hands-on experience with circuit simulation tools such as PSpice, LTspice, HyperLynx, or equivalent SI/PI analysis tools.
- Strong laboratory debugging and test experience.
- Experience with the product development lifecycle from concept through production release.
