Manager - Transactional Services (Reinsurance Claims)

Overview

Manager - Transactional Services (Individual Contributor) in the Transactional Services team within Guy Carpenter's reinsurance and capital business, based in Mumbai. The role leads operational excellence, governance and team delivery, and includes leading change management as teams undergo system and process migration.

What you'll do

• Manage operational excellence and build and maintain strong governance.
• Lead operational delivery for the team, BU and entities assigned, and provide dashboards and metrics showing trends, figures and business insight.
• Lead change management initiatives as teams undergo system or process migration.
• Manage migrations seamlessly, including system and/or work transfers, proactively identifying roadblocks, providing solutions and ensuring perfect execution.
• Be responsible for operational issues within the direct area of responsibility and maintain robust operational management discipline using reporting metrics.
• Ensure colleagues operate rigorously within all published procedures and professional standards.
• Ensure compliance adherence to internal and external regulator guidelines.
• Be actively involved in managing FMEA, the risk register and all compliance-related matters within defined timelines.
• Help teams minimize E&O exposure.
• Ensure team members are adequately trained and that training documents and records are maintained within the team.
• Ensure leave policy is applied as per business demands.
• Adhere to the engagement rhythm by conducting monthly performance reviews and appraisals within agreed timelines.
• Personally coach and develop team members, spending adequate time with them.
• Develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and participate and contribute in meetings.
• Embed a continuous improvement culture by motivating and influencing teams to drive process improvement.
• Participate in central projects and deliver as per the agreed objectives.

What you'll need

• Graduate.
• 10+ years of experience in reinsurance broking in the operations area.
• Technical expertise in XOL, Claims, Facultative or Proportional Treaty business.
• Strong knowledge of technical and functional insurance and reinsurance concepts, terms and contract clauses including Excess of Loss, Facultative and Proportional treaty.
• Knowledge of reinsurance broking business and the related terminologies.
• In-depth knowledge of performance metrics.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects during peak volume periods.
• Collaborative mindset across levels and teams.
• Good command of MS Office applications (MS-Excel, MS-Word).
• Comfortable working a 12-9 PM / 1-10 PM shift.

Details

• Location: Mumbai (Hiranandani).
• Hybrid role requiring at least three days per week in the office.
• Shift: 12-9 PM / 1-10 PM.
