Manufacturing Engineer - Data Center Hardware

Overview

Manufacturing Engineer for data center hardware within Anthropic’s Data Center Infrastructure organization, owning server, rack, and accelerator manufacturing processes with contract manufacturing and ODM partners.

What you'll do

• Design and document assembly, rack integration, and test processes for new server and rack products.
• Lead new line and new site bring-up from process validation through mass production release.
• Specify, source, and validate tooling, fixtures, and test equipment.
• Own first-pass yield, cycle time, and process capability; run SPC and drive corrective actions.
• Provide design-for-manufacturing and design-for-test feedback and represent manufacturing in pilot build reviews.
• Qualify process and engineering changes on the line, including PFMEA/control plan updates and operator training.
• Replicate qualified processes across lines/sites and audit partner lines against Anthropic standards.

What you'll need

• 8+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or process engineering for complex electromechanical/electronics products at a contract manufacturer or ODM.
• Experience designing and releasing end-to-end production processes, including line layout, work instructions, fixtures, and test, with owned yield and cycle time.
• Led new line or site bring-up at a manufacturing partner.
• Experience with PFMEA, control plans, SPC, process capability, gauge R&R, DFM/DFT, and structured root cause methods such as 8D.
• Comfortable diagnosing factory process problems via observation and factory telemetry.
• Can travel to partner manufacturing sites (domestic and international) up to 50% of the time.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
