Overview
Define and drive architecture for next-generation MCU-based custom silicon, including real-time embedded SoCs and application-specific MCU platforms. Collaborate across hardware, firmware, software, verification, safety, security, and system teams.
What you'll do
- Define MCU product architecture and technical specifications from concept through tape-out.
- Lead trade-off analysis across performance, power, area, cost, safety, security, and scalability.
- Define compute subsystems, memory hierarchy, DMA, interrupts, debug infrastructure, and peripherals.
- Define clock, reset, and power architecture, including low-power modes and power domains.
- Collaborate on hardware-software partitioning, boot flows, memory maps, register maps, and bring-up.
- Support architecture validation, emulation, silicon bring-up, post-silicon debug, and derivative planning.
- Present architecture decisions and risk assessments to teams, management, and external partners.
What you'll need
- Deep experience in MCU, embedded SoC, or custom silicon architecture.
- Expertise in processor subsystems, memory architecture, AMBA-style interconnects, DMA, interrupts, peripherals, and debug.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of clock, reset, power, low-power design, performance modeling, and architecture validation.
- Experience working across hardware, firmware, verification, and software teams.
- Understanding of AXI/AHB/APB, SPI, I2C, UART, USB, Ethernet, CAN, and memory interfaces.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, communication, technical writing, and project leadership skills.
Nice to have
- 15+ years of MCU, embedded SoC, or custom silicon development experience.
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with ARM Cortex-M, RISC-V, or equivalent embedded processors.
- Expertise in functional safety, security architecture, and real-time embedded systems.
- Experience integrating ADCs, DACs, PLLs, timers, and sensor interfaces.
- Experience with platform strategy, derivative planning, third-party IP evaluation, and technical reviews.
