Mechanical Engineer - Fleet Reliability and Operations (Hydroelectric industry)

Overview

Support fleet reliability, operations, and rehabilitation projects for hydro turbines and generators. The role covers site engineering, warranty issue resolution, commissioning support, and service design.

What you'll do

• Assess turbine and generator condition during site visits.
• Supervise signature tests before unit disassembly.
• Review and approve site record sheets.
• Resolve non-conformities and general project issues.
• Support commissioning and testing phases.
• Resolve reliability issues during warranty periods.
• Prepare service designs and related project documentation.

What you'll need

• bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• At least 2 years of relevant hydro-business experience.
• Unrestricted authorization to work in the USA.
• Ability to work remotely in a team and communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of hydro turbine and generator design and erection methods.
• Willingness and ability to travel in North America and worldwide.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer license.
• Knowledge of strength-of-materials calculations, finite element simulation, metallurgy, and welding processes.

Details

• Remote position with a United States home base.
• Travel approximately 30% within the USA.
• Salary range: $80,000–$120,000 per year.
