Mechanical Engineering Co-Op

Overview

A 6-month co-op position in Entrust's Engineering Group at the Shakopee, MN corporate headquarters, supporting product development of systems for printing and personalization of credit cards, passports, driver's licenses, national IDs and similar products.

What you'll do

• Participate in development of new products and/or support problem resolution on existing products.
• Solve technical problems and provide solutions and recommendations.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
• Work closely with and take work direction from Mechanical Engineers.
• Develop solutions for design problems.
• Create or modify solid models of parts.
• Create and review part drawings.
• Participate in design reviews.
• Prototype and test designs.
• Collaborate on cross-functional teams to develop products.

What you'll need

• Pursuing a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Solid modeling experience.
• Must be able to lawfully work within the US and have unrestricted work authorization for US.

Nice to have

• SolidWorks 3-D solid modeling experience.
• Matlab and Simulink experience.
• Control system development experience.
• Knowledge working with mechanical and electromechanical products.
• Knowledge with sheet metal and machined part design.
• Mechanical aptitude with hands-on skills.
• Strong interest in product design.
• Commitment to learning and continuous improvement.
• Detail-oriented, deadline driven, self-directed and organized.
• Ability to excel in a highly interactive cross-functional team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• 3.0 GPA or higher.

• Location: Shakopee, MN (corporate headquarters).
• Co-op program, 6 months.
• Pay range: $25.00 - $25.00 per hour (in the primary posting location).
• No agencies, no relocation.
