Member of Technical Staff- Firmware Engineer

Overview

Build firmware for Pure's proprietary Direct Flash Module (DFM), working across the data path, NAND media management, and low-level hardware interfaces to integrate QLC NAND, NVMe/PCIe, and custom controllers for FlashArray and FlashBlade.

What you'll do

• Design, implement, and test low-level embedded C/C++ firmware features and custom NAND media management algorithms that maximize storage performance, density, and reliability.
• Lead bring-up and integration of state-of-the-art NAND media, microcontrollers, and SoC hardware components.
• Build firmware simulation environments, failure analysis processes, and Python-based automation frameworks (CI, unit, and regression testing).
• Partner end-to-end with hardware, system software, and manufacturing teams to deliver integrated, high-availability storage modules from concept through release.

What you'll need

• Deep hands-on experience developing low-level embedded software or device firmware using C/C++ and Python.
• A strong understanding of microcontrollers, SoCs, or hardware bring-up.
• A solid background in NAND flash, SSD device firmware architecture, or media management policies.
• A practical command of software/firmware test and release lifecycles.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex hardware-software interactions and communicate effectively across interdisciplinary engineering teams.

• Location: Bengaluru, India. Primarily an in-office role; work from the Bengaluru office in compliance with Pure's policies, unless on PTO, work travel, or other approved leave.
