Overview
Develop, create, and modify computer applications software and specialized utility programs supporting SRAM Memory-related deliverables for the Qualcomm Memory IP Team. Analyze user needs and software requirements, develop software solutions, and optimize operational efficiency for internal and external users.
What you'll do
- Complete assigned coding tasks to specifications on time with good quality.
- Collaborate with others inside the project team to accomplish project objectives.
- Communicate with the project lead to provide status and information about current tasks.
- Resolve complex software issues and bugs quickly.
- Gather, integrate, and interpret module or sub-block code information from a variety of sources to troubleshoot issues and find solutions.
- Participate in technical conversations with tech leads and managers.
- Anticipate and communicate issues with the project team.
- Make decisions based on incomplete or changing specifications and obtain adequate resources to complete assigned tasks.
- Prioritize project deadlines and deliverables with minimal supervision.
- Write readable code for large features or significant bug fixes.
- Unit test code to verify feature stability and functionality.
- Convey information clearly and accurately using effective verbal and written communication methods.
- Document software and/or hardware specifications to promote knowledge transfer to other engineers.
- Prioritize mission-critical work over less important or trivial activities.
- Adapt to changes and setbacks to manage pressure and meet deadlines.
- Attack work activities with drive and energy, understand the impact of work on key metrics, and make decisions in the company's best interest.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field and 3+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience, or Master's degree in those fields and 2+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience, or PhD in those fields and 1+ year of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
- 2+ years of experience with programming languages such as Unix, Shell Scripting, C, C++, Java, Perl, Python, Skill, etc.
- 2+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization.
- Knowledge of the overall process for developing new software, including software engineering and other functions, major phases, checkpoints, deliverables, and common issues and considerations for bringing a new product to the marketplace.
