ML/AI - Supply Chain

Overview

Build and lead production AI/ML solutions that optimize Samsara’s global hardware supply chain. The role covers forecasting, inventory, supplier risk, cost optimization, and anomaly detection using ERP, IoT, and other operational data.

What you'll do

• Define the end-to-end AI transformation roadmap for supply chain.
• Design, train, validate, and deploy production ML models.
• Build forecasting models for demand, inventory, lead times, and spend.
• Create data features, pipelines, and ETL jobs from ERP, IoT, and third-party datasets.
• Develop batch and real-time inference systems with MLOps practices.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, and Operations teams.
• Mentor junior scientists and establish modeling governance standards.

What you'll need

• 8+ years of experience in applied data science or machine learning.
• Master’s or PhD in a related technical field.
• Expertise in statistical modeling, forecasting, optimization, anomaly detection, and causal inference.
• Strong Python and SQL skills with production ML deployment experience.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, model versioning, monitoring, and performance tracking.
• Experience building real-time inference pipelines and managing GPU/TPU training resources.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with advanced forecasting models for intermittent and seasonal demand.
• Knowledge of supply chain concepts, ERP systems, and inventory optimization.
• Experience reducing ML workload and cloud/GPU costs.
• Experience with multi-region inference, third-party ML platforms, or open-source ML projects.

Details

• Remote role open to candidates residing in the United States or Canada.
• Annual base salary: $178,640–$319,000 USD.
• Full-time employment.
