Network Development Engineer, Code Quality

Overview

Network Development Engineer, Code Quality role on the Platform team, focused on improving software quality across the codebase.

What you'll do

• Design and implement comprehensive unit test suites, including mocking, fixtures, and edge-case coverage.
• Establish and maintain static analysis tooling and enforce code quality standards.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines to ensure automated quality gates are effective and reliable.
• Drive a testing philosophy across the team from unit to integration and regression testing.
• Debug complex issues using systematic, structured debugging approaches.
• Contribute Python (primary) and a second language (JavaScript/Node.js preferred) to platform quality initiatives.
• Work on customers' platform cases when needed.

What you'll need

• 2–4 years of Python development with a strong focus on testing, debugging, and code quality.
• Experience designing unit tests, including mocking, fixtures, coverage strategies, and edge-case handling.
• Hands-on experience with static analysis tools (e.g., pylint, flake8, mypy, SonarQube) and CI/CD pipelines.
• A clear testing philosophy, including the ability to articulate trade-offs between test types and coverage strategies.
• Proficiency in a second programming language; JavaScript/Node.js is preferred.
• A systematic debugging approach to isolate, reproduce, and resolve complex issues.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Networking fundamentals.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools.
