Principal AI Engineer, SMAI

Overview

Principal AI Engineer (SMAI) responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and supporting AI-powered applications for manufacturing operations.

What you'll do

• Design and build end-to-end AI solutions including data ingestion, feature engineering, training, inference, APIs, web apps, and observability.
• Develop responsive front-end apps using React, Angular, or Streamlit backed by Python/FastAPI services.
• Build and deploy predictive machine learning models for structured and unstructured data.
• Integrate LLMs and agentic AI capabilities into manufacturing and engineering workflows.
• Integrate robotics platforms, AMRs, tool automation systems, control systems, and the Micron MES ecosystem.
• Develop and maintain containerized applications with Docker, deploying on Kubernetes or OpenShift.

What you'll need

• 12+ years building and shipping production web or AI applications end to end.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience developing and deploying web applications, APIs, or data-driven solutions.
• Hands-on experience with at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong programming skills in Python and modern Angular/TypeScript.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift, and CI/CD development practices.
• Working knowledge of GenAI concepts including prompt engineering, RAG, LLM integration, agentic AI, and Responsible AI practices.
