Principal Cybersecurity Specialist - Incident Response

Overview

Principal Cybersecurity Specialist focused on incident response and cyber defense. You will investigate and mitigate security incidents, analyze threats and vulnerabilities, and support detection, reporting, and incident response readiness.

What you'll do

• Serve as an active incident response team member to investigate and close out security incidents.
• Monitor security alerts (e.g., SIEM and intrusion detection systems) to identify potential incidents in real time.
• Perform investigations on complex security incidents, including root-cause analysis and lessons learned.
• Develop, implement, and review incident response processes, procedures, and playbooks for triage and response.
• Analyze collected security data for trends, patterns, and potential organization-specific threats and produce actionable reports.
• Participate in an incident response on-call rotation and coordinate with third-party SOC partners during investigations.

What you'll need

• 12+ years of IT experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, MCA, or MSc.
• Experience on a defined cyber security team in a global enterprise.
• Experience participating in incident response events and response.
• Experience briefing leadership and speaking to the organization broadly.
• Experience identifying key threats and vulnerabilities and reporting them to the organization.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with threat frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK, Diamond Model, or Cyber Kill Chain.
• Basic understanding of reverse engineering and static/dynamic analysis of malware.
• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud security threats.
• Understanding of social engineering tactics.
