Overview
Principal Data Scientist for Alcon’s Digital Health team, applying AI/ML and advanced analytics to design and build analytics products and services for digital health.
What you'll do
- Architect, develop, and operationalize reusable, modular data analytics products on Alcon’s digital health data platform.
- Collaborate with data product teams to define requirements for data pipelines, products, and analytics use cases.
- Partner with data engineering to build data products and analytics use cases.
- Translate business problems into structured analytic approaches and drive actionable insights.
- Design and build advanced analysis and ML models to support digital product development and business decisions.
- Advocate for data-driven decision-making and stay current on AI/ML innovations.
- Coach and mentor junior data scientists and data analysts.
What you'll need
- 7+ years of experience developing advanced analytics and ML models for complex business challenges.
- Strong knowledge of ML techniques including classification, regression, anomaly detection, and optimization on large-scale data.
- Deep understanding of ML and deep learning methods with underlying theory and math.
- Hands-on experience developing GenAI applications like chatbots and AI agents, using structured and unstructured data.
- Proven hands-on ownership of production GenAI or agentic-AI systems.
- 3+ years of MLOps experience across end-to-end development, deployment, and operationalization.
- 3+ years building cloud analytics solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP, plus proficiency in Python and SQL.
