Principal DevOps Engineer

Overview

Principal DevOps Engineer is a senior, hands-on technical leadership role responsible for shaping and scaling modern DevOps, platform engineering, and release practices across product teams.

What you'll do

• Own and evolve DevOps standards, CI/CD practices, and SDLC guardrails.
• Design and scale secure, reusable, YAML-first CI/CD pipelines.
• Lead release planning, risk assessment, deployment, and rollback strategies.
• Ensure systems are observable, resilient, and reversible by design.
• Build custom AI-enabled DevOps agents for development, deployment, and infrastructure pipelines.
• Design and operate secure cloud platforms on Azure (primary) and AWS.
• Mentor engineers across Development, QA, and Platform teams to raise DevOps maturity.

What you'll need

• 14+ years of experience in product/SaaS engineering environments.
• Proven experience building and scaling DevOps capabilities.
• Strong systems thinking across speed, reliability, security, and cost.
• Ability to influence senior engineers and leaders without formal authority.
• Experience with Azure DevOps (YAML & Classic), GitHub Actions, and/or Jenkins.
• Strong automation skills with PowerShell and Bash.
