Overview
Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Engineer - Gen AI to advise leadership and drive long-term, large-scale technical solutions across complex enterprise needs.
What you'll do
- Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence applications and enterprise web technologies.
- Lead strategy and resolution of highly complex, unique challenges across multiple enterprise areas.
- Translate business objectives and the enterprise technical environment into technical engineering solutions.
- Provide vision, direction, and expertise to leadership for implementing innovative business solutions.
- Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and recommend innovations to enhance operations.
- Serve as an expert advisor through strategic engagement with professionals and managers across the enterprise.
What you'll need
- 7+ years of engineering experience (or equivalent via work experience, training, military experience, or education).
- Deep end-to-end GenAI stack expertise, including LLMs, RAG, vector databases, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, LLMOps, observability, and production deployment.
- Strong expertise in agentic AI platforms and multi-agent architectures, including planning, reasoning, memory management, tool orchestration, workflow automation, and autonomous execution frameworks.
- Demonstrated leadership in AI evaluations, benchmarking, and model quality assurance, including red teaming and continuous evaluation.
- Expert knowledge of AI guardrails, Responsible AI, and GenAI governance including compliance, auditability, policy enforcement, and risk controls.
- Deep understanding of GenAI cybersecurity risks and mitigations, including prompt injection, jailbreaks, and OWASP LLM Top 10.
