Overview
Principal Product Manager for Ethos’s Underwriting Engine, owning strategy and execution for the rules, knowledge graph, and workbench platform that drives life insurance underwriting decisions.
What you'll do
- Own the decisioning rules infrastructure for eligibility, pricing, and risk criteria.
- Drive product strategy for structuring and enriching risk knowledge for decisioning systems.
- Own internal workbench tooling used by Actuarial and Underwriting to configure, test, and deploy changes.
- Collaborate with Actuarial, Underwriting, Finance, and senior leadership to build and maintain a shared roadmap.
- Champion a compliant AI/ML roadmap for underwriting with data science and engineering to ship improvements.
What you'll need
- Operate as an individual contributor (no people management).
- Translate between platform and business needs, including communicating with senior actuaries.
- Make data-informed decisions in data-heavy environments with real downstream consequences.
- Communicate in a structured, precise manner for alignment across teams and presentations to senior leadership.
- Prioritize high-leverage work effectively in complex domains.
- Be technically credible with experience in comparable technical complexity (rules engines/knowledge graphs/ML pipelines/decisioning systems).
- Have a proven track record building data-heavy decisioning/intelligence platforms in regulated domains.
