Principal Transmission Line Engineer

Overview

Lead and oversee complex transmission line engineering projects in Pune, India, acting as an independent reviewer, SME and mentor without directly managing staff.

What you'll do

• Lead and manage transmission line engineering projects ranging from 69kV to 500kV from inception to completion.
• Oversee the creation of computer models of overhead electric transmission lines and structures using PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and TOWER.
• Assemble drawings, specifications, and design criteria for the procurement of tubular steel structures, lattice towers, and transmission line hardware.
• Ensure projects meet client specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
• Perform QA/QC of complete transmission line designs.
• Perform engineering reviews and approval of projects prepared by others.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering and design teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
• Lead training and development of other engineers on engineering design and code compliance issues.
• Develop new policies, standards, typicals, tools, and other technical items for company-wide use and implementation.
• Perform quality audits on client deliverables.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in transmission line engineering.
• Proficiency in PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE software.
• Proficiency in FAD/LPILE.
• Knowledge of design codes and standards.
• Proven track record of managing complex engineering projects.
• Strong leadership and a passion for mentoring other engineers.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and also independently.

• TOWER experience.
